The Charm of MegèveOctober 29, 2017
Megève might be one of the cutest towns I’ve ever been to. The authentic french village with horse carriages as taxis made me feel like I was in a real life fairy tale. The backdrop of the snowy mountains is breathtaking itself, but the rustic-chic chalets along the medieval cobbled streets is something out of a movie. This enchanting ski resort has so much to offer, even for those who don’t like to ski.
The town square is surrounded by gourmet restaurants and trendy boutiques. Megève is known as a mecca for foodies, since it is home to the only three-Michelin starred chef in the alps. To add even more to Megève’s appeal, the surrounding ski slopes are considered to be the most scenically attractive in the Alps, due to their prime location centred around Mont Blanc, the Alp’s tallest peak.
This was actually my first time skiing and I must say that Megève is a perfect ski resort for beginners like myself. There were plenty of learning slopes which made it easy to get the hang of it. If you are planning a ski trip and have never skied before, I definitely would recommend having a lesson or two!
