The Best Hotels In VerbierSeptember 29, 2017
Verbier is the main resort in the 4 Valleys (Switzerland’s largest ski area) and one of the most popular ski resorts in the country. It’s reliable ski terrains and pumping nightlife makes it a favoured destination amongst all kinds of skiers, including the daredevils who take it off piste, and the less intense skiers who are pretty much just there for the booze. There are also a number of activities on offer for those who choose not to ski altogether, including sledding or paragliding. There are even lifts that go up the mountain directly to the piste-side restaurants and bars, so there is actually no skiing required, which can be ideal for many. The only downfall to Verbier is that it is not the best place for beginners because the “easy” slopes are completely disconnected from the rest of the pistes and the learning areas tend to get quite slushy. Where to Stay?
W Verbier: This is the newest hotel in Verbier but has quickly become the trendiest hotspot due to it’s stylish rooms, après ski bar, and late-night club. It’s also at a convenient location because you can ski directly into the hotel at the end of the day. It’s also within close walking distance to the center of town to other bars and restaurants.
Le Chalet d’Adrian: This is a lovely hotel with three gourmet restaurants, including a large terraced restaurant ideal for lunches. It also features a large spa with a heated indoor and outdoor pool.
La Cordee des Alpes: This hotel is slightly further away from the town center than it’s competitors but it’s popularity stems from it’s tranquility. It’s interesting design puts a modern twist on traditional alpine architecture.
