Miami Hotspots

September 1, 2017

South Beach is and has been one of the hottest nightlife destinations in America.  With hundreds of restaurants, nightclubs, boutiques, and hotels, it attracts crowds from all different backgrounds all over the world.  In both daytime and nighttime, the party never stops in Miami.  Here is a list of my favourite party spots in the city of heat:

Best Restaurants

Bagatelle: Definitely one of the top places to spot celebs in Miami.  This French restaurant is most famous for it’s brunch parties, but come here any night of the week and you won’t be disappointed.  While you enjoy delicious food, the wait staff will dance around the restaurant, and some might even hop on top of your table!

Bâoli: Mediterranean and sushi restaurant with entertainment provided all night long.  Dinner is served either indoors in a clubby setting or outdoors on a beautiful garden patio.  If you book a table here, try your best to get a table outside because this is where most of the action happens!

Komodo: Swanky restaurant in Brickell that serves Southeast Asian food and drinks.  It is a three story establishment with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Lucali: Hands down, the best pizza I’ve ever had.  And being from New York where pizza is most famous, that’s saying a lot.  Come here for a laid back evening with great wine in a rustic booth and indulge in the magic that they call pizza.  Your tastebuds can thank me later.

Drunken Dragon: Dont be alarmed when you pull up to the address and can’t seem to find the restaurant.  Cleverly disguised as an old grocery ‘market,’ this Korean BBQ restaurant with grilling tables for a DIY meal is the latest talk of the town.  The tiki-themed cocktails and provocative decor calls for great fun with a group of friends.

Prime 112: A very famous steakhouse and hotspot in Miami that is great for people watching.  Be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for a table, even if you have a reservation.

Best Day Parties

Pool at 1 Rooftop: This is one of the only rooftop pools on an oceanfront property.  Book a Sky Cabana and spend the day here relaxing and enjoying the views over South Beach.  At 5pm, the DJ will start spinning near the bar area where you can enjoy cocktails while the sun sets over Miami.

Hyde Beach at SLS Hotel: This is one of the most famous weekend pool parties in Miami.  There is a DJ in the afternoon to splash around in the pool to.  There is also a DJ after sunset so you can stay and dance the night away.

The Delano: This hotel has a long reputation as being a playground for adults.  The Privileged Sunday pool party is the most popular day where the DJ spins until sunset.

Mondrian Pool Club: Saturdays and Sundays at the Mondrian Hotel feature a reggae-vibe pool party that overlooks the city of Miami and Biscayne Bay where the music starts at 1pm.  The party ends at 8pm but will leave you with a front row seat to one of Miami’s beloved sunsets.

Arkadia Pool: Tucked away from the action of the busy hotel, this adults-only pool at the Fontainebleau is the perfect escape for hotel guests.

Best Bars

Juvia: Awesome rooftop atop a designer parking garage with unobstructed views out to the city of Miami.  The restaurant serves pan-Asian cuisine but the cocktails are what makes this place special.

WATR at 1 Rooftop: Oceanfront rooftop bar with the best views over South Beach.  Come here to watch the sunset and groove to the DJ’s beats.

Living Room: A chic oceanfront cocktail lounge in the W hotel perfect for a meeting point before a big night out.  Side note- usually won’t be bustling before 9pm.

Foxhole: More toward the resident side of South Beach, this sports bar is known as an upscale local’s joint and is far less touristy that it’s neighboring bars.  It is a late-night hot spot with games like darts and pool.

The Corner: Miami’s version of a saloon definitely stands out amongst its neighbors in the downtown nightclub district.  It has recently become the popular spot pre or post E11even, the famous 24-hour strip club across the street.

Mangos Tropical Cafe: This restaurant/nightclub has been going strong on Ocean Drive for the past 25 years.  There is live latin music and entertainment until 5am daily.  Entertainment includes live singers, acrobats and dancers that will likely get you up dancing with them.  It is definitely one of the most touristy places, but still the most fun if you’re looking for an easy-going, more on the sloppy side, night out.

Best Night Clubs

LIV: Very famous nightclub located in the Fontainebleau with famous DJ’s and celebrities on the daily lineup, open Wednesday to Sunday. Best night=Sunday.

Story: Huge nightclub at the southern end of South Beach with 5 different bars.  Similar vibe to LIV. Best night=Friday.

Space: Ibiza lovers commence here for deep house raves. It’s famous for it’s retractable roof that opens up at the crack of dawn so partying in darkness turns into a party in the sun. Best night=Saturday.

Rockwell: Megaclub on South Beach that is a currently a top hotspot for celeb sightings. Best night=Monday.

Wall: Located in the W hotel, this lounge regularly hosts big name DJs that attract chic and upscale crowds. Very popular with the European crowd. Best night=Tuesday.

E11even: Located in Downtown Miami, this nightclub and cabaret is open 24 hours a day.  In other words, the party never stops. Best night=every night of the week where late nights turn into early mornings.

Overall, Miami has something to offer everyone, no matter what age.  Like Will Smith once said: party in the city where the heat is on all night on the beach till the break of dawn…
